Definition of a dumbass

According to the holy grail of the 21st century, the Urban Dictionary (not to be confused with old man Webster), there are several definitions of the word dumbass. 
#1: "someone who looks up the word 'dumbass' in a dictionary.
#2: "(n.) Someone who is unbelievably stupid or does stupid things"
#3: "A pet name for your stupid buddies"
And in conclusion, they advise it is much better to be a smartass than a dumbass.
Smartass: "A quick witted response given when someone calls you a smartass that furthers your smartassedness"..

Hmm.. looks like I will need to ponder these two issues.  I honestly am not certain if my level of repeated humiliating and hysterically funny incidents performed at such great levels elevates me to smartassedness yet.  My heart is telling me to strive for the beter of the two; while my head is laughing maniacally out of control with disbelief at my denial in extreme form..
